Trust Nothing, But Read This

My obsession with computers started the day my mom brought home our first PC. Some AST brand from Radio Shack. I had no idea what I was doing but I had just watched Hackers and I was convinced I was going to be one of those people.

The movie taught me nothing. Reality was worse. I was completely lost and completely hooked at the same time.

There were no roadmaps back then. No bootcamps, no YouTube channels, just curiosity and a lot of destroyed systems. Every few months my mom would lose it because the family computer was wiped again. Windows won’t start? She knew it was me. AOL account banned? She knew it was me. She never thought it was malicious. Just annoying. She was right on both counts.

That chaos turned into a career. I work as a security lead and manage technical projects. I spend a lot of time thinking about how systems fail, how people get deceived, and how much of security is actually a people problem dressed up as a technical one.

Part blog, part notebook, no filter.
